In this article, I’m going to discuss the database software examples which are widely used today. There are many types of databases in the market right now and people use them to store their data but most of them don’t know about the different types of database software they have.
ORACLE Database Software Examples
Oracle is a relational database software examples management system that can be used to create and manage databases. It is an ACID-compliant database, meaning it guarantees the atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability of data transactions. Oracle also supports SQL as its query language and offers object-relational features such as stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined types.
MySQL Database Software Examples
MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases. MySQL is the world’s most popular open-source database and is used by many large companies, including Facebook and Google.
The name “MySQL” comes from Monty Widenius’ nickname and the initials of his wife, Sue Ellyn Smith.
It was originally developed by Widenius in 1994 while working at the Helsinki University of Technology (HUT). The first version of MySQL was released on January 21, 1995, with version 4.0 being released in 2000. In 2002 it was acquired by Sun Microsystems which later became part of Oracle Corporation when they purchased Sun in 2009.
PostgreSQL Database Software Examples
PostgreSQL is an open-source relational database management system. It is most commonly used with Linux, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X, but also runs on Microsoft Windows. PostgreSQL is ACID compliant, ensuring reliable transaction processing.
The PostgreSQL project was started by Michael Stonebraker at MIT in 1982 as a research project into data access methods and storage systems. The first version of PostgreSQL was released in 1985, with further releases being made over the years until version 7 appeared in 1994 which featured improved support for SQL-92 standard features such as foreign keys and subqueries. In 1994 Walnut Creek CDROM released Postgres95 (later renamed to Postgres96) based on this new release; this included many additional features do not present within the original release including triggers, stored procedures, and functions.
SQLite3 Database Software Examples
SQLite3 is an in-process library that implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-configuration, transactional SQL database engine. The source code for SQLite3 is in the public domain and is thus free for use for any purpose.
SQLite was originally developed by Donald R. Morrison in 1995, as part of his MOSIX operating system (acquired by Monta Vista Software). In 2000 it was separated from MOSIX and became its own project with its own website at Source Forge.
MS-SQL Server Database Software
MS-SQL Server is a relational database management system that is used to store data. It is a product of Microsoft and it has been around for decades now, having been launched in 1988 as part of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. The latest version of this software is called SQL Server 2017, released on April 2nd, 2018.
MS-SQL server allows users to create tables, insert data into them and query that data using SELECT statements or other commands such as UPDATE or DELETE (which will be covered later).

We have seen that there are different types of database software that are used today. Some examples include ORACLE, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite3. These are just some of them but there are many others as well. It is important for you to know what kind of database you want before choosing one because not all of them work well with each other.
